To my ear Castonovo compares favorably to the version recorded by the great Fritz Wunderlich.....particularly when you consider this is a live concert perfomance.

as a young tenor myself, I find mr. castronovo's singing inspirational and educational. good recordings of this aria can be hard to find, and here is one that is simply exceptional. i particularly appreciate the use of the voix mixte on the top notes, as i am just discovering this concept and to have such an amazing example is tremendously helpful to listen to.

Incredible as always! I love this voice. Love it love it love it! He is certainly a throw back to the days of old when tenors were trained properly AND knew how to sing.

Thanks for uploading. I think he sings this beautifully. I too love Placido Domingo singing "No puede ser" but I also think Charles Castronovo's rendition is fabulous - a real treat.

A beautiful voice, absolutely. I always favored the voices of Luigi Alva, Juan Diego Florez, Miranov, Wunderlich etc for this role. Castronovo could grow on me.
